NSW vs QLD Live: State of Origin Game 2

NSW vs QLD Live: New South Wales will be without prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard for Sunday's second State of Origin clash with Queensland at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, live on Sky Sports Action.

Campbell-Gillard suffered a broken jaw playing for the Penrith Panthers in Friday's NRL match against the Sydney Roosters and Blues coach Brad Fittler has given himself several options for the prop's replacement in his 20-man squad.

New South Wales are looking to wrap up their first State of Origin series success since 2014 - their only triumph in the past 12 years - after claiming a 22-12 victory in Origin 1 in Melbourne, although they will be aware they also won last year's opener before losing the series 2-1.

"We've just got to fight hard to play the ball," Blues forward Jack de Belin said on Friday. "Hopefully the referees don't let them get away with too much. We've just got to counteract that by running the ball extra hard.

"That suits us. We're a young side, we're fit and the ball in play is going to tire them out a lot more than us."

Queensland coach Kevin Walters is set to hand a debut to Newcastle Knights full-back Kalyn Ponga after bringing the 20-year-old into his squad in place of Anthony Milford, although he is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench.

Prop Dylan Napa is battling to overcome an ankle problem and Melbourne's Tim Glasby is on standby to feature if he fails to be given the green light.

New South Wales squad: Josh Addo-Carr, Nathan Cleary, Damien Cook, Boyd Cordner, Angus Crichton, Jack de Belin, Tyson Frizell, Ryan James, Luke Keary, David Klemmer, James Maloney, Latrell Mitchell, Tyrone Peachey, Matt Prior, James Roberts, Tariq Sims, James Tedesco, Jake Trbojevic, Tom Trbojevic, Paul Vaughan.

Queensland squad: Jai Arrow, Will Chambers, Gavin Cooper, Dane Gagai, Tim Glasby, Coen Hess, Valentine Holmes, Ben Hunt, Greg Inglis, Felise Kaufusi, Andrew McCullough, Josh McGuire, Cameron Munster, Dylan Napa, Josh Papalii, Kalyn Ponga, Billy Slater, Jarrod Wallace.

Walters said of Ponga: "I think everyone's seen how good he's been for the Newcastle Knights. He's got the potential to be a long-term player for Queensland and I think he has earnt the right to put on a Maroons jumper."

Veteran full-back Billy Slater is set to replace Michael Morgan, who has suffered a season-ending bicep injury, but the 35-year-old needs to prove his fitness following a hamstring problem, although this should be easy enough after Melbourne Storm revealed he could have played last weekend.

Queensland hooker Andrew McCullough added: "You've got to limit space and we need to do that across the board.

"They've got some quick outside backs as well and Cooky [Damien Cook] did really well to feed those guys the ball. It's a bit of a flow-on effect.

NSW have scored a late try to pull off a 16-10 victory and claim the inaugural women's Holden State of Origin in front of 6824 fans on Friday night at North Sydney Oval.

Scores were locked at 10-10 in a tense affair after both sides went try-for-try until Sam Bremner linked with Isabelle Kelly five minutes from full-time to snatch victory for the Blues.

Bremner was dominant for NSW, playing a part in all three tries, two of which were scored by Kelly, who later earned the official Woman of the Match award.

It is the third consecutive victory for the Blues over the Maroons and the first under the Origin banner.

The Blues suffered an early blow with Corban McGregor (dislocated shoulder) taken from the field after five minutes.

NSW couldn't capitalise on their first chance close to the line but were in two minutes later with a slick back-line movement from Maddie Studdon and Bremner finished off by Kelly in the corner.

Studdon made a sideline conversion look easy but Queensland went up another gear to dominate the remainder of the opening half.

"You can't limit someone's speed but you can limit the time they have with it."
